4 Door Porsche

Porsche has unveiled its first four-door sedan model. The Panamera is an exciting car for those who need more that just a two seater sports car but still want to have the sleek look of a Porsche. After the huge success of the Porsche Cayenne SUV, the automakers wanted to give their fans another option.

The Panamera is a high performance sport sedan and a 4 door porsche. The design of the exterior maintains a Porsche feel with the sleek front and back ends. The car sets very low just like the traditional Porsches. The rear end view of the car screams Porsche before the crest is even identified.

The spoiler adjusts automatically to the car’s speed. The car has a powerful V8 that includes an option for sports plus mode at the touch of a button for even faster speed. Rear wheel or all wheel drive models are available.

A driver has the option of manually shifting the seven gears or leaving it up to the engine in the automatic mode. The cars come standard with Porsche’s unique double clutch transmission.

The interior is filled with the classic Porsche look. Four specially designed Porsche seats make up the seating area. This provides more comfortable seating arrangements for all passengers.

The dash looks like a sports car with its five circular instruments. Of course, what luxury car would be complete without leather and real wood design throughout the interior.

Each seating area has its own temperature controls. The center console is filled with buttons that control suspension, vehicle settings, emergency lights and temperature control for the front passengers. The standard Porsche Communication Management system and GPS unit is also included.

The car will not disappoint anybody looking for a high performance luxury sedan.

The Porsche Automobile Company is perhaps best known for it’s flagship car the 911. It is a two door luxury sports car and one of the most sought after luxury cars in the world. The company has built it’s brand on two door luxury sports cars so when it brought the four door luxury SUV Cayenne to market it stunned the industry.

Porsche has in recent years been diversifying it’s line up of cars to remain competitive in the increasing luxury car market. To that end it has introduced the 2010 Porsche Panamera; it’s first four door, four seater luxury sedan.

The first difference between the new four door Panamera and the average two door model is that the Panamera is a front engine loaded sports vehicle, while the vast majority of two door models are rear engined. This is a huge difference and puts the Panamera in direct competition with other luxury cars in this class like the Mercedes CLS.

The four door Porsche is also of course much longer than the two door model at 195.7 inches to accommodate the extra two doors and backseats. It is even longer than the Cayenne SUV by 6.9 inches but will not be mistaken for anything but a sports car because of it’s low standing profile at only 55.8 inches.

The four door Panamera may be a luxury sedan but it definitely has the power of a two door sports car. The average engine size will be a 400 horsepower 4.8 liter V8. The new four door Panamera will be a great option for consumers in the market for a powerful luxury sedan.
